Photo Department

Photo department is among the busiest department onboard a cruise ship. Most cruise lines run their Photo Departments through concessionaire companies but many of them may operate it by themselves. Job positions in photo department include of a photo manager, assistant photo manager, photographer, junior photographer and videographer. Photo department personnel can be seen everywhere on the ship and ashore, clicking memorable pictures and entertaining both the passengers and the crew.

Photo Manager

Photo Manager is responsible for managing entire operations of the photo department. The position requires previous photography and managerial experience. Good communication skill in English is required for this position.

Salary for the job normally ranges between US $2200-$2700 per month, plus commission.

Assistant Photo Manager

Assistant Photo Manager is responsible for managing day to day operations of the photo department and assisting the Photo Manager whenever asked for. Previous photography and managerial experience is required for this position. They are promoted to the position of Photo Manager. Good communication skills in English are a must.

Salary for the position may range between US $1900-$2400 per month, plus commission.

Photographer

Previous experience in photography is required for this position. A certification in photography will be a big plus for applicants, but not essential. No photographers can also be considered for the position, provided they have interest and great zeal in photography. They are promoted to the position of Assistant Photo Manager. Good communication skill in English language is a must.

Salary for the position ranges between US $1800-$2100 per month, plus commission.

Videographer

Videographer is responsible for capturing important and memorable moments happening onboard the ship in video tapes. He/she video shoots passengers and events taking place on the cruise ship and ashore with the purpose of selling the videos at the end of the cruise. The position requires a certification in audio-visuals or equivalent work experience in video shooting and video production. Good communication skill in English language is a must.

Salary for the position ranges between US $2200-$2800 per month, depending on cruise lines and commission.
