Food and Beverages Department on board cruise ships takes care of all dining and wining requirements of the passengers. Job positions in this department include Food & Beverage Director, Assistant Food & Beverage Director, Restaurant Manager, Head Waiter, Bartender and Steward/Stewardess.

Food & Beverage Director

Food & Beverage Director oversees entire operations related to food and beverages service quality. He/she is responsible for managing all on board dining, special functions and cocktail parties. This crucial position demands a previous 6 years of experience in F&B department in addition to 3 years in a management position/ 4 years of experience on ship is required.  Fluency in English language is a must for this position.

Salary ranges between US$ 3800 - 5200 per month.

Assistant Food & Beverage Director

Assistant Food & Beverage Director assists the Director in operations related to food and beverages service quality. Prior 6 years of experience in F&B department in addition to 3 years in a management position is required.  Fluency in English language is a must for this position.

Salary ranges between US$ 3600 - 5000 per month.

Maitre D' / Restaurant Manager

Maitre D' / Restaurant Manager takes care of seating arrangements, service, and oversees the wait staff for the dining room. Fluency in English language is a must for this position.

Salary ranges between US$ 3400 - 5500 per month, depending on the cruise line and gratuities from passengers.

Head Waiter

Head Waiter supervises all waiters within the restaurant. Prior experience in a restaurant is required for this position. Fluency in English language is a must.

Salary ranges between US $2600-4500, depending on the cruise line.

Waiter/Waitress 

Waiter/Waitress is responsible for managing the junior and assistant waiters, as well as taking feedbacks from passengers on the food quality and services. Prior experience in a restaurant is required for this position. Fluency in English language is a must. This position has a possibility for promotion to the Head Waiter.

Salary ranges between US $2200-3500, depending on the cruise line.

Assistant Waiter/Waitress

Assistant Waiter/Waitress is responsible for providing direct assistance to the waiters within the restaurant.  Prior experience in a restaurant/hotel is required for this position. Fluency in English language is a must. This position has a possibility for promotion to Waiter/Waitress.

Salary ranges between US $1500-2200, depending on the cruise line and gratuities from passengers.

Junior Waiter/Waitress

Junior Waiter/Waitress is responsible for general duties within the restaurant such as serving meals and drinks etc. Prior experience in a restaurant/hotel along with fluency in English language is required for this position. This position has a possibility for promotion to Assistant Waiter/Waitress.

Salary ranges between US $1400-1900, depending on the cruise line and tips from passengers.

Bartender 

Bartender is responsible for the organization and pouring of drinks for the passengers. Prior experience in a bar/restaurant/hotel along with fluency in English language is required for this position.

Salary ranges between US $1800-2500, depending on the cruise line.

Bar Steward/Stewardess

Bar Steward/Stewardess serves drinks to passengers within the lounges and on the deck. Prior experience along with fluency in English language is desired for this position. This position has a possibility for promotion to Bartender.

Salary ranges between US $1500-1900, depending on the cruise line and gratuities from passengers.

Steward/Stewardess

Steward/Stewardess is responsible for general duties within the lounge, deck and restaurants. No prior experience is required for this position, however fluency in English language is a must.

Salary ranges between US $1000-1600, depending on the cruise line and gratuities from passengers.
