Letter of Support

Dear Sirs,

It is a well known fact that the problem of world wide deficit of the qualified maritime personnel has resulted in 30,000 officers missing today. Researches are showing that if this trend continues 'till 2012 the number will climb to over 70,000 officers.

We would like to inform you about a new web portal started in Croatia - "www.maritime-connector.com" - international Internet gateway specialized to share maritime employment opportunities and wide maritime information. It represents a new communication method and recruiting source between shipowners or agencies and seafarers.

In only 10 months of work this web portal has shown excellent results to many owners and agencies that used it's web tools. Site is recognized internationally providing modern and effective marketing and crewing services.

Maritime connector is recognized and supported by Croatian Government – Ministry of Maritime Affairs, Croatian Chamber of Economy and many other institutions from maritime industry in Croatia.

Mare nostrum-Croatian Shipowners Association finds this web portal excellent source and tool for international recruiting for all Ship owners and agencies dealing with crew management. We believe that this is the future in recruitment and effective communication with potential candidates.

By this letter Mare nostrum- Croatian Shipowners Association expresses full support to web portal Maritime-Connector and their efforts to help in connecting seafarers with shipowners and agencies looking for qualified maritime personnel.

We suggest to International Chamber of Shipping and International Shipping Federation to present Maritime Connector to all members. To any member this maritime information source could be very useful in improving it's existing recruitment process.

Best regards,

Mato Botica

Subject: Employment of seafarers on Jadrolinija passenger vessels

I would like to thank you for your huge effort and work in finding seafarers to work on Jadrolinija passenger ships.

Our collaboration throughout 2008 regarding the scarce number of catering staff achieved excellent results. Advertising for the necessary staff, the constant search for employees from your data base, informing potential candidates and holding “workshops” for possible candidates is something new and very recognizable for Croatian and for future seafarers.

It is nice to hear that many shipping companies have been in contact with you and that more and more seafarers are consulting your web pages.

Our collaboration will continue as soon as the elaboration and admission of the new employees recruited for us by you has been completed.

I wish you every success in your business.

Yours sincerely,
Capt. Đani Lukšić

Manager of the maritime professions office

The „Split tours d.d.“ company was using advertising services on the web site Maritime-Connector. It is a positive experience in every way. As the season was approaching, search for seafarers was increased and it was necessary to find qualified crew. We received on our e-mail around 20 CV-s and after the interviews we managed to employ one Master.

The Maritime market is specific and the web site of Maritime Connector is a place where job offer and search for employees can become coordinated, for mutual satisfaction. It means a lot that in one place can be found everything related to maritime industry, and especially to seafarers to whom this way of work helps in promoting themselves and in following the situation on maritime work field. Compliments for the web site and encouragement for further existence and improvement.
