Uljanik: Porinut „Pedro 'Alvares Cabral“
U Uljaniku je jučer s navoza 2 u more porinuta gradnja 496 – „Pedro 'Alvares Cabral“ prvi od dva ugovorena samohodna usisna jaružala (Traliling Suction Hopper Dredger) koje ULJANIK Brodogradilište gradi za luksemburšku kompaniju Jan De Nul S.A. Capellen G.D. Luxembourg.
Prva dama svečanosti porinuća bila je Dunja Pekišić zaposlenica u uredu JAN DE NULA u Uljaniku koja je uobičajenim presijecanjem konopa pustila brod u more. Nazočnima se prigodnim riječima obratio Eduard Milovan, član Uprave ULJANIK Brodogradilišta i direktor proizvodnje koji je pritom istaknuo izuzetno kvalitetnu suradnju sa svim predstavnicima brodovlasnika i njegovom kvalitetnom stručnom timu koji zajedno s ljudima u Uljaniku ulaže sve svoje znanje i iskustvo u realizaciju ovog projekta.

Milovan je istaknuo kako možemo biti zadovoljni učinjenim poslom te kako se radovi odvijaju po planu što daje jamstva kako će isporuka uslijediti tijekom kolovoza ove godine. Na koncu Milovan se zahvalio inspektorima „Bureau Veritasa“ i svim Uljanikovcima i Uljanikovim kooperantima na prvom od planiranih sedam ovogodišnjih porinuća, koje je ostvareno unatoč vrlo teškim i hladnim vremenskim uvjetima za rad u posljednja dva tjedna uz posebnu pohvalu zaposlenicima montaže trupa i opreme na navozima.

„Pedro 'Alvares Cabral“ nosivosti je 26.000 tona dužine 147,6 metara i 30 metara širine, a brod i radnu opremu pokretat će dva glavna dizelska motora svaki snage 7200 kW . Dubina s koje će moći usisavati materijal iznosi 42 do 50 metara. Ugovor za gradnju potpisan je u srpnju 2010. godine, a kobilica je položena u listopadu prošle godine. Brod će nakon isporuke ploviti pod zastavom Luxembourga.
Nakon porinuća na navoz je položena kobilica za gradnju 497, drugi brod iz serije samohodnih usisnih jaružala koje ULJANIK Brodogradilište gradi za kompaniju Jan De Nul.
