Novi rekord prometa preko Jadrana
Brodovi koji plove na linijama između hrvatskih i talijanskih luka, a na čije plovidbene redove suglasnost daje Agencija za obalni linijski pomorski promet, ostvarili su u 2011. godini rekordan promet i putnika i vozila, nadmašivši ostvarenja iz 2010. godine za 9,5 posto u broju putnika i 5,3 posto u broju vozila. Prošle je godine preko Jadrana prevezeno ukupno 622.343 putnika i 86.420 vozila.
Najveći dio prometa ostvarili su nacionalni brodar Jadrolinija, na relacijama Split-Ancona, Zadar-Ancona i Dubrovnik-Bari, te panamska tvrtka Blue Line International na liniji Split-Ancona. Ukupno je Jadrolinija prevezla 275.238 putnika i 49.494 vozila što je za čak 22,8 posto putnika i 12,7 posto vozila više nego 2010. godine. Osjetno najveći rast prometa, od gotovo 50 posto kod putnika i 34,4 posto kod vozila, Jadrolinija je zabilježila na liniji Dubrovnik-Bari.
I tvrtka Blue Line zabilježila je rast prometa i to od 9,6 posto kod putnika (184.957) i 6,4 posto kod vozila (27.450).
Među brodarima koji održavaju sezonske linije između talijanskih i hrvatskih luka i dalje je vodeća talijanska tvrtka SNAV čiji su brzi brodovi prevezli 58.196 putnika i 9476 vozila. Ipak, to je ostvarenje u broju putnika za 15 posto, a u broju vozila za 16,2 posto lošije nego 2010. godine.
Istodobno su brodovi tvrtke Venezia Lines, na linijama od Venecije do luka u Istri i na Kvarneru, prevezli 44.413 putnika, što je rast od 14,1 posto, dok su brodovi tvrtke Emilia Romagna Lines prevezli 40.197 putnika ili 16,1 posto više nego godinu prije.
Tijekom 2011. godine od održavanja prekojadranskih linija odustale su inozemne tvrtke Adriatic Shipping Co. Ltd. Iz Kingstowna i Logistica Transporti Molisana iz Termolija.
Napomena: U statistici za 2010. godinu, objavljenoj na stranici Agenciji 11. veljače 2011., dati su pogrešni podaci o broju vozila koje je u 2009. i 2010. godini na liniji Split-Ancona prevezao brodar Blue Line International. Pogrešne podatke je dostavio agent brodara Split Tours d.d., koji se naknadno ispričao zbog toga propusta.
