Staff Captain
Navis Consulting are currently looking for an exceptional Staff Captain to join our client’s fleet of Cruise Vessels on a permanent basis.
The ideal candidate will need to have experience with the following:
• Graduate of a maritime school is a must
• Holder of a Captain’s license
• Experience in rank on passengers’ vessels
• Excellent management and communication skills
• Fluent German language skills
• Knowledge of the applicable codes, guidelines and standards
• USPH, Coast Guard and UK MCA Port State Control experience preferred
• Basic & Advanced Polar Code Training Certificate
• Monitors ship certifications validity and compliance; MLC 2006 adherence
Responsibilities:
• Head of the entire Deck department onboard
• Responsible for welfare, security and discipline matters on board concerning both guests and crew
• Deputy Captain and second in command of the vessel
• Responsible for all emergency drills onboard
• Monitors ship certifications validity and compliance; MLC 2006 adherence
• Oversees and ensures that deck maintenance is carried out and recorded
• Under the master’s supervision carries out pilotage duties to gain navigational experience
• Navigational watch planning and controlling
• Responsible for the Zodiac operation
• Participates in Master Meetings, Maintenance Meetings and Health & Safety Meetings, Weekly Public Health Inspections
• Evaluation Deck crew/Officers as per SMS
Salary & Conditions
• Salary: Competitive
• Rotation approx. 3 months on/3 months off
• Start date – Mid Sept / beginning of October
