Herm. Dauelsberg was established in Bremen in 1857 as Sworn Shipbrokers, being active locally and internationally as shipbrokers, lineragents and shipowners.

The Company is owned by Klaus F. Bunnemann and C. Andreas Bunnemann and has been managed by four generations of the Bunnemann family.

The head office is still in Bremen and the Managing Director is Klaus F. Bunnemann.

Our Business

•  Shipowning / Shipmanagement:

Herm. Dauelsberg has traditionally had very close ties with liner operators, which has always influenced their shipowning policy.

With very few exceptions, Herm. Dauelsberg's vessels have all been contracted and financed by themselves and built under their own technical supervision.

Herm. Dauelsberg watches and studies the container trade very carefully to be innovative when considering technical and design aspects for their new buildings in order to ensure the vessels are well prepared to meet the future demands of the liner trades.

The day-to-day management of all the vessels, be it operational, technical, crewing as well as commercial and chartering is all undertaken by the 'in-house' staff in the Bremen office.

The company's employees, as well as the officers and crew in the fleet, have great experience in serving the liner industry and are justifiably proud of the company's excellent reputation.

•  Chartering:

Our chartering department is actively involved in all aspects of dry cargo chartering, but in particular concentrating on container, multipurpose and project business. The brokers have excellent direct contacts worldwide and can provide reliable, up-to-date and accurate information.



•  Sale and Purchase:

Due to very good contacts and information, we are able to offer a private and efficient service both commercially and technically for new building contracts as well as for sale and purchase of secondhand vessels. Naturally, we are particularly close to the container ship market.

•  Port Agency:

Herm. Dauelsberg's agency department handles all types and sizes of tramp vessels for cargo operations or for repair and drydocking.

Amongst other aspects, we have great experience in handling project cargoes and coordinating cargo operations of all types of heavy-lift vessels.

We are also at your disposal to act as a protecting agent whenever you need a reliable agent to look after your interests whether you are an owner or a charterer.
